Loyola Track and Field Enjoys Weekend of Personal-Bests in Trio of Competitions

HILLSDALE, Mich. - The Loyola University Chicago track and field program enjoyed a successful weekend at the Gina Relays at Hillsdale College, Drake Relays and Concordia Cougar Invitational. The men's 4x400m relay team led the Ramblers at Hillsdale as they won their event with their fastest time this year.

The team of Ricky Headrick, Donte Prisby, Tom Andreoni and Demetri Lambros won the 4x400m relay with a season-best time of 3:15.50 to pace Loyola this weekend. Headrick and Andreoni continued their solid performances as Headrick earned a 10th-place finish in the men's 400m run with a new personal-best time of 48.80. Andreoni placed 11th out of 58 competitors in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 54.40, which ranks him second in the Horizon League.

Senior Joe Mahalick placed fourth out of 129 runners in the men's 800m run. His time of 1:49.82 marks the third time this year the Joliet, Ill., native has posted a time under his best time from one year ago.

On the women's side, Jessie Morgenthal and Danielle Locascio dominated the women's 3,000m steeplechase for the second consecutive weekend. Morgenthal bettered her personal-best by 17 seconds recording a time of 11:40.00, while Locascio set a new personal-best of 11:50.00. The duo rank first and second, respectively, in the conference.

Ashley Raymond led the Rambler women in the 1,500m as she finished 14th among 103 competitors. Her time of 4:42.18 is a new personal-record by two seconds. Morgenthal followed Raymond placing 15th with a personal-best time of 4:42.30. Freshman Alison Rack also notched a personal-best time of 4:44.28 to garner a 23rd-place finish.

Junior Genevieve Binnie turned in a solid effort in the women's 3,000m as she placed 11th out of 52 competitors. Her time of 10:12.31 was just one second shy of her personal-record. The Homewood, Ill., native also paced the Rambler women in the 5k as she finished third among 88 runners. Raymond garnered a fourth-place finish in the women's 5k, while Rack placed 22nd.

In the women's 800m, junior Pam Staton bettered her previous personal-record by one second as she recorded a time of 2:13.60 to finish 14th among 104 runners. Sophomore Jena Brown followed Staton as she placed 18th setting a new personal-best of 2:14.52.

At the Drake Relays, senior Amanda Domich earned a second-place finish with a time of 37:01.41 in the women's 10,000m.

Leili Khorassani earned a first-place finish in the Hammer Throw at the Concordia Cougar Invitational as she recorded a personal-best mark of 116-02.00. She paced fellow Ramblers Jordan Rohlfing (115-11.00) and Jessica Sheahan (101-09.00), who placed second and third, respectively. Sheahan's mark of 101-09.00 is a new personal-record. Rohlfing came back in the women's discus to notch a personal-best for herself of 124.00.00 to finish second among 15 competitors.

The Ramblers are off until May 8 and 9 when they travel to Youngstown, Ohio to compete in the Horizon League Championships.
